- Re-Unite the people arrested during G20 summit in Toronto in 2010.
- Give visibility and a right to speak for the arrestees.
- Mediate and denounce the arrests, police repression and detention conditions that occurred at G20.
- Encourage the creation of coalitions to support the arrestees.
- Mobilize any necessary resources for legal and political support of the arrestees.
The way the group operates:
There will not be permanent spokespersons, only chosen delegates. We seek the inclusion of every arrestee for decision-making, and all decisions are to be taken by the arrestees during assemblies, where a consensus will be drawn.
Basic Principles :
- Respect for political heterogeneity of the arrestees.
- The collective is independent and not partisan.
Our claims :
- That every G20 related charges be dropped.
- For the contestation of special laws and rules used during G20.
- For the denunciation of the systematic police repression that occurred during G20.
- For the defence of liberty of expression and dissent.
- For the reaffirmation of the constitutional rights that have been flouted during G20.
- For a public and independent inquiry about G20 events.
- For a reparation for all police actions during G20, including arbitrary arrests and inhuman detention conditions.
- For immutability for the persons responsible in the violation of the rights of the arrestees.
